If you manage multiple brands or sub-brands, here's a tip that saved us a lot of confusion:

Create separate brand guidelines for each brand/sub-brand rather than combining them into one.

Why?
  • More accurate scoring (no cross-brand confusion)
  • Clearer violation reports
  • Easier to manage updates
  • Team members can focus on their specific brand
Naming convention we use:
  • "Acme Corp - Main Brand"
  • "Acme Corp - Premium Line"
  • "Acme Corp - Youth Brand"

This is especially helpful for agencies managing multiple clients. Each client gets their own clean guideline set.
