Brand guide extraction missed my typography specs

by Team PaletteCheckTroubleshootingNov 15, 2025 at 12:37 PM
My brand guide includes detailed typography guidelines (fonts, sizes, line heights, letter spacing), but after extraction, I only see the font names - none of the sizing or spacing specs. Is there a way to get more detailed typography extraction?

Font extraction works best with explicit text names. Here's what might have happened and how to fix it:

Why Specs Get Missed:
  • Font names shown only as visual examples
  • Sizing/spacing displayed in graphics rather than text
  • Specs embedded in complex layouts
Manual Fix (takes 2 minutes):
  1. Go to your Brand Guideline → Typography
  2. Click Edit
  3. For each font, add:
- Font name and weight - Recommended sizes (headings, body, captions) - Line height and letter spacing - Usage notes (where to use each)
  1. Save

Example Entry:

Font: Inter
Weight: Regular (400), Semi-bold (600), Bold (700)
Heading size: 32px / 40px line height
Body size: 16px / 24px line height
Letter spacing: -0.02em for headings
Usage: Inter Bold for headlines, Regular for body copy

For Future:
If your PDF shows fonts visually, add a text specification table - this extracts much more reliably!
